Engineering Mathematics
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Mathematics was established in tandem with the inception of K.N.S.I.T in 2001. Since its establishment, the department has consistently maintained exemplary teaching standards, a tradition upheld throughout the years. Its offerings encompass educational programs tailored for undergraduate students, equipping them with a robust foundation in mathematics that is indispensable for their engineering education. Additionally, the department provides a comprehensive introduction to mathematics and usage of modern tools such as MATLAB, PYTHON and SCi-LAB aligning with the prescribed VTU syllabus. Currently, the department has a dedicated team of 7 teaching faculty members, including 3 with doctoral degrees, and one non-teaching staff member. It continually evaluates and updates its academic program curriculum to ensure its relevance and effectiveness. Furthermore, the Department of Mathematics houses a research center affiliated with VTU.
“The only way to learn mathematics is to do mathematics!”
Vision
To be the catalyst for mathematical excellence, fostering analytical thinking and problem solving skills that empower engineering students to excel in technology driven world.
Mission
1: To promote excellence in mathematical education, research and innovation to empower students in engineering discipline.
